When it comes to hotels in Bath, no other properties have the personality or the attentiveness of the team at the Queensberry hotel. In our latest meet the team blog, we introduce the first person guests meet upon checking in to our boutique hotel – Concierge Attila.

Good afternoon Attila, how are you? Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions for us!

Good afternoon – I am very well thank you, and not a problem!

Can you tell us a little bit about your role here at the Queensberry?

My role is to look after everyone at the hotel – including guests and colleagues. My formal title is Concierge, which means my job has great variety. From reception duties and portering to chatting to guests and helping wherever I am needed, I like to make sure everyone is happy. I even like to make sure that the neighbours to the hotel feel included and considered – that’s important given that we are townhouses and Bath has a strong community feel. I have worked here for almost 2 years.

What drew you to the hotel?

I originally came to work here for two weeks to cover the Bath Christmas Market period which is a very busy time for the business. To keep things short and sweet, I fell in love with the Queensberry and she fell in love with me. I love the staff and management, so it made perfect sense to stay working here. My previous roles have always included looking after people – in Geneva I was a manager of a jewellery store and before that an activity coordinator in a nursing home.

We know that no two days are the same in hospitality, but as best you can what is an average day like for you?

My shift times vary so my day can depend. Early shifts have a different rhythm to late – early will see me saying goodbye to guests as they check out but late shifts see me welcome guests to the hotel.

After midday I get things prepared for the afternoon. I park the car for guests as we offer valet parking, I look after luggage until rooms are ready – from 3pm until usually around 6pm everyone likes to check in so I interact with guests, give them a tour of the property and see how I can help. Part of my job involves showing guests maps, checking in and out, advising on places to visit and dine – whatever the guests need I help with. I love that the most – in my job I get to spend a lot of time with the guests and I always want to make them happy.

Now for the hardest question of this Q&A – describe the hotel in 3 words if you can.

Service, style, smiles.

And finally, what’s your favourite room?

That is easy – room 17. It is a beautiful room that is garden facing, full of blue hues with a lovely bathroom and huge television.

Thank you Attila. If you are looking for places to stay in Bath, the service you receive here at the Queensberry is second to none. Make a choice that will see you relaxing in luxury and leaving with a smile upon your face – book direct for the very best rates.
